The New Cook / Grand Daughter

Here she is Zoe, the newest baker extraordinaire, working on Lemon Poppyseed Muffins. She is the 4th generation to use this proud old mixer. Spinning can't be far behind. But I can now announce that another little Gwinn is expected this fall.

SPEAKING OF SPINNING - The photo below shows three skeins spun from the same fleece, a dyed silver Gotland/Corriedale cross. It can be spun into a fine 2-ply worsted shown wound into a ball, or as a medium sized 2-ply semi-worsted shown as a butterfly hank, or even woolen spun into a thick singles as the loose skein.

Full details are in "The Spinner's Challenge - Three Yarns Sizes, One Fleece" found in the Fall 2008 Issue of Shuttle, Spindle & Dyepot.

2010 is quickly flying by, I hope to be teaching somewhere near you and see you in a class of mine. July I'll be teaching at Convergence 2010 in Albuquerque, NM. I have changed my calendar format to Google calendars, which will automatically update itself, making my life much easier.
